Deputy Chief Orin Orchard was hired as a law enforcement officer for the Papillion Police Department in 1995. Since then he has worked in various divisions including Road Patrol, Narcotics, Crime Prevention, D.A.R.E. Officer, and as a School Resource Officer.  He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in January 2005 and was assigned to the Administration Division where he supervised the Crime Prevention Unit, Investigations, Property and Evidence, and the civilian clerical staff.   Deputy Chief Orchard was promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief in November 2021.  He attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish in 1993, and is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy, session 272.  He spent 29 years in the military, first in the U.S. Navy Reserve and then in the U.S. Army Reserve, where deployed multiple times to Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan. In his free time Lieutenant Orchard enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, riding motorcycles, and reading / listening to audio books.
