[ARCHIVED] 200 Trees to be Planted in Papillion Honoring Fallen Military and First Responders

Honor and Remember Tree Planting

Honor and Remember Nebraska Chapter will plant 200 trees on Oct. 17, 9 a.m., at Prairie Queen Recreation Area as part of the group’s Nebraska Memorial Forest. Each tree planted will be named after a Nebraska fallen military or first responder hero. The Nebraska Memorial Forest includes a number of other communities with the goal of planting more than 7,000 trees by the end of 2024.

A brief ceremony will precede the tree planting. Those who are interested in showing support for the project but can't physically volunteer are invited to attend as well.

Honor and Remember is seeking volunteers to help plant the trees on Oct. 17. Volunteers are encouraged to RSVP to JimMeier75@gmail.com. For more information about this project, call Jim Meier of Honor and Remember Nebraska Chapter at 402-490-9293.
