New Monument Honors Five Papillion Military Heroes

Veterans Park

Veterans Park recently received a special new addition — an obelisk memorial honoring five special military heroes from Papillion:

  • Three Killed in Action — Corporal Harry Bossard, 1st Lieutenant Mark A. Noziska and Specialist Joseph B. Cemper
  • One Missing in Action — Major Delmar George Booze
  • One Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient — Private Jacob C. Miller.

These five individuals served in the Civil War, World War I, Vietnam and Afghanistan with four of them as MIA/KIA paying the ultimate sacrifice defending our nation’s freedoms. Their service and sacrifice will not be forgotten in our community. Through this monument, their memory will live on for generations to come.

See the side panels of the obelisk monument in the Gallery.
