Please join the Nebraska Wind Symphony for the return of their Summer Concert Series and the first full band NWS concerts in over a year! On June 13 at 4:00pm, the Nebraska Wind Symphony and the Omaha Area Youth Orchestras (OAYO) under the direction of Aviva Segall will collaborate on an exciting performance at the SumTur Amphitheatre in Papillion (weather permitting). The concert will feature the immensely talented performers of OAYO joined by select musicians from the Nebraska Wind Symphony on works by Beethoven, Brahms, Armbrust, and others. In addition to being joined by performers from the NWS, Music Director Dr. Joshua Kearney will guest conduct OAYO in a performance of a new cinematic work by OAYO alumnus Lee Armbrust. After intermission, the Nebraska Wind Symphony will deliver a rousing full band concert featuring the music of Sousa, Bagley, Schuman, and others in addition to medleys of music by Deep Purple and the music from the Wizard of Oz! Joined by composer and Associate Music Director Keith Michael Davis, the NWS also welcomes guest conductors Ben Coatney and Cassandra Rathman on works by Fred Allen and Henry Fillmore. Cancellation due to weather will be announced on the NWS and OAYO websites and social media pages no later than June 13 at 11am.
