Papillion Public Library is now offering contactless pickup of library materials. Contactless pickup is available for patrons with a full library membership. Digital access only cards do not allow for physical items to be checked out.
Step One: Place your items on hold.
Search for available items and place holds directly through the Papillion Public Library app or our online catalog. You will need your library card number and pin to place holds online. If you would like to suspend your holds for a future date, find a how-to guide here. You can also call the library at (402) 597-2040 to place holds. Library staff are available to take hold requests over the phone Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
You can request up to 10 items per library card for pickup. Patrons are asked to limit to one pickup per week.
Step Two: Wait for notification, and select a pickup day.
You will be notified by phone or email when holds are ready. Library staff will attempt to process holds requests as soon as possible. If you are notified via email and would like to have Contactless Pickup, please call the library at (402)597-2040 to select your pickup day.
Step Three: Pick up your items.
When you arrive at the library, the Contactless Pickup shelves are inside to the left of the entrance at the end of the counter that holds the self-checkout machine. Your items will be in a bag and labeled with the first 3 letters of your last name and the first 2 letters of your first name. Library staff will place your bag on the pickup shelves on the day you selected.
Staff handling incoming and outgoing materials will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment, such as masks and gloves.
The outside book drop will reopen on Tuesday, May 26th. Currently checked-out items have had their due dates extended to July 1 to allow plenty of time to return. Returns can be dropped off at any time in the outside book drop. All items being returned will be quarantined for at least 3 days before being checked in. All returns must be placed in the book drop. Please do not attempt to hand returns to library employees.
