Digital Library at Papillion Landing

The Digital Library at Papillion Landing is staffed by Library employees and located inside the Community portion of Papillion Landing (1046 W Lincoln Street Papillion, NE 68046).  To contact Library staff directly at the Landing, please call (402)359-1693. 

Memberships

A Library Card is required for the use of some components of the Digital Library at Papillion Landing. For instance, checking out gaming consoles and equipment, STEM kits, and iPads and Laptops. A Library Card is not required for accessing desktop computers, board games, or makerspace equipment. For more info, on our library card options, please click here.

The Digital Library

The Digital Library space is divided into three rooms:

  • The Interactive Lab (a space for kids and teens)
  • The Digital Classroom (a computer lab and study space)
  • The Digital Makerspace (featuring equipment for creation)

The Interactive Lab

Age Range

The Interactive Lab is designated for teen and youth use. When school is not in session, there is a no unattended adult policy in place. Adults may use the space during normal school hours. Children must be at least 9 years old to be unattended in the Digital Library space with a guardian present in the Papillion Landing building. They must be 11 years old to be unattended in the Digital Library space without a guardian in the Papillion Landing building. Find a complete list of Papillion Landing Age Restrictions here.

Gaming Computers

The Interactive Lab has 8 Alienware Gaming Computers available that have The Sims 4, Minecraft, and Roblox installed. Anyone using Minecraft or Roblox must sign in with their own account. If the user does not have a library card, they can get a guest pass from Library Staff.

Gaming Consoles

The Digital Library has a wall mounted TV with a Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, and Xbox One. There are also three TVs on carts, one with a Switch, one with an Xbox One, and one with a Playstation 4. There are also four Switch Lites available for checkout. Games and controllers are checked out from Library Staff and require a library card.  Click here for a list of video games available to play in the Interactive Lab.

The Digital Classroom

Computers

The Digital Classroom has six Dell computers with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher installed. Two of the computers also have Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat Pro, InDesign, and Illustrator installed. Black and white printing is $0.10 per page and color printing is $0.25 per page.

Free Space

There are tables and chairs available for use in the Classroom on a first come, first served basis. A gaming cart from the Interactive Lab can also be brought into this space by Library Staff.

The Digital Makerspace

The Digital Makerspace is only accessible with staff assistance and during Digital Library operating hours.  The Makerspace includes a Glowforge Plus Laser Cutter, a Cricut Maker, a Dremel DigiLab 3D45 3D Printer, a Large Format Printer, and a Binding Machine. Binding Machine

The Library has a Ibico Ibimaster 400E binding machine. We have black plastic combs for $0.10 each. The combs come in 5/8 inch (0.625), 3/4 inch (0.75), 1 inch, 1.5 inch, and 2 inch. The machine is able to do metal combs as well that patrons can supply if they wish. All other Binding Machine supplies must be provided by the patron.
