The trainers you will find at Papillion Landing Community Recreation Center are certified and experienced fitness experts who are ready motivate you and create a plan to help you reach your personal fitness goals.

Working with one of Papillion Landing’s personal trainers will get you more than just an exercise routine, it will boost your wellness and take you to whole new levels.  When you work with a trainer you are getting a program tailored to your specific fitness goals and will help you stay accountable. We understand that one size does not fit all, our approved personal trainers will work on-site to assist our members in reaching their goals.

Below we have information on each of the trainers approved to provide training sessions at Papillion Landing.  Each trainer schedules their own sessions and sets their own rates based on the services requested by each client.  Please reach out to the trainer you feel would be best fit to help you reach your goals to set-up a meeting to review your goals and set-up a training plan.

About Chris

Chris has been a personal trainer in Omaha for 15 years and has trained over 25,000 sessions during that time.  He has experience training clients young and old and at any fitness level.  

In 2010 Chris received his Bachelor’s Degree in Continuing Education in Human Science/Dietetics.  He was accepted to Lenoir-Rhyne University’s accredited Dietetic Internship program.  He completed rotations at Alegent-Creighton Health,  the Council Bluffs School System, and Hy-Vee Food Stores.

Chris successfully passed the state licensure exam to become a Registered Dietitian and also completed the state requirements to be awarded licensure as a Medical Nutrition Therapist.

He also completed the requirements and passed a board examination to become a board-certified specialist in sports dietetics.

In 2016 he became the sports dietitian consultant for Creighton University Athletics.

About Jill

Jill has been a personal trainer for over 20 years.  She firmly believes that everyone can and should benefit from movement and exercise.  Having been a collegiate athlete, and then an injured athlete, she knows that exercise can be amazing and make life better when done correctly.  Having mobility and stability will improve your health, wellbeing, and overall quality of life. When Jill is not helping people reach their goals, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three boys.

About Mike

Mike became an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist to work with athletes of all kinds. He welcomes supporting our youth athletes as they work to take their game to the next level, or the adult athlete looking for ways to improve their game. Whether you are looking for training to recover after a tough season, wanting to maximize strength in the off-season, gearing up for the preseason, or preparing to peak in-season, Mike is able to put together a training plan to help you obtain your goals.

As a Certified Fitness Level 2 Professional with the Titleist Performance Institute, Mike also works with golfers to improve their strength, power, and overall health so they can lower their handicap, beat their friends, and continue to golf for years to come. He works with all athletes to promote long-term results using a hierarchy of athletic development. It is his mission to make you the best athlete you can be inside the weight room so that you can perform at your best on the field, court, track, or course.

Mike’s passion for sports and the weight room can be seen throughout his life.  In college, Mike was a club baseball player for the University of South Dakota and currently plays basketball recreationally every week. He takes the same drive he has for improving himself in the gym, on the court, or golf course and applies that to all his clients to get results.

About Jake

Jake has had a passion for health and wellness for the majority of his life. He grew up playing just about every sport but particularly enjoyed playing football and powerlifting. Thanks to his three brothers Jake developed a love for weight lifting and bodybuilding. 

Jake decided to take that passion and knowledge to The University of Nebraska, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. After graduating from UNO, Jake worked for Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital for 3 years. While there, Jake worked with a very broad range of people of all situations and ages (children to older adults) and enjoyed being the motivational influence to encourage them in their recovery. Jake worked with people rehabbing from a stroke, getting people back to sports after a car accident, or just helping to manage everyday aches & pains.

While in college, Jake’s internship at Hillcrest Health Services helped him discover how much he enjoys working with the active aging population. He developed valuable experience working with the 50+ age group and continues to enhance his knowledge in this area.

Jake got into personal training to help people extend their quality of life. His experience at Madonna and Hillcrest helps him to focus on creating innovative programs to help everyone reach their goals. He has experience working with men and women of all ages from athletes, post-rehab, to all around general fitness goals.

Heidi Knights

About Heidi

Heidi has been a personal trainer for three years.  As an active duty spouse, she started her Personal Training path working for Navy Fitness.  There she gained valuable experience working with various age groups with a variety of health and fitness goals.  Whether an active senior or an athlete, Heidi is able to create a plan to meet any individuals’ goal.

Heidi specializes in weight loss, functional fitness, HIIT/Circuit/Bootcamp style workouts, strength training, and sports training.  If a client is interested in utilizing a training style she is not familiar with, she will do her research to ensure she is able to professionally train them within that fitness style and keep their needs at the forefront. 

Aside from her certification, Heidi is actively pursuing a degree in Nutrition Science with an Emphasis in Dietetics. Heidi has personally experienced her own weight loss and fitness journey.   As a personal trainer, she strives to utilize her personal experience and background to provide high quality, personalized service at a rate that is affordable to everyone who aspires to achieve health and wellness improvements in their lives.  She wants everyone to feel that they can reach out to a trainer for help in achieving their fitness and/or weight loss goals.
